Entornos personales de aprendizaje (PLE) | Humano Digital

Entornos personales de aprendizaje (PLE) | Humano Digital:

“Todos tenemos ya un PLE. ¡Siempre han existido!” (Jordi Adell)

"This is a review of Diane Conrad's research paper`in the Journal of Distance Education. I think building communities of learning in a distance education venue is one of the greatest challenges to online instructors.

Three Ways That These 70 Rapid E-Learning Tips Will Help You Build Better Courses » The Rapid eLearning Blog:

The Rapid E-Learning Blog - 70 Rapid E-Learning Tips
" like to keep things simple so I usually package ideas around three key points. It all started when I was taught that there are three steps to getting things done:

Prepare to do the job.
Do it.
Then clean up when you’re done.
Did this give me all the details I needed to do the job? No. But it did provide some clear steps to guide me. And that’s what I see as my mission with this blog.

I like to provide some simple steps to help you move in the right direction. Of course there’ll be some gaps between the steps, but that’s OK. They’ll get filled as you apply what you’re learning and gain more experience.

For this week’s post I decided to review all of the posts where I provided three steps to do something. You’ll find them below with a summary (and of course loosely organized in three groups)."

7 Secrets to Getting the Graphics You Need for Rapid E-Learning » The Rapid eLearning Blog:

"I had a great time in Atlanta last week. It’s always so much fun getting to meet the blog readers and learning more about what people do in the real world. Two things always stand out during these trips:

There is no one way to do elearning. We use the same words, but we don’t always mean the same thing. Some people build courses, some create marketing material, and some use the rapid elearning software to create multimedia information.
People don’t have money. It doesn’t matter if you’re from a big company or small; odds are you are working on a limited budget. That means you’ve got to be creative with the resources you have.
One of the sessions I did in Atlanta was on how to get the graphics you need for your rapid elearning courses. So I thought it a good idea to share the presentation with the rest of the blog readers."

Mobile learning – Push or pull? « E-Learning Provocateur

Mobile learning – Push or pull? « E-Learning Provocateur:

"The universal advice for m-learning is to keep it short.

The argument is that workers these days are busy professionals with the attention span of a juvenile gnat, so anything longer than a few minutes won’t be effective.

I don’t buy it, but I am in the minority."

Learning with 'e's: From atoms to bits

Learning with 'e's: From atoms to bits:

"The final keynote speech at ALT-C 2011 was given by Professor John Naughton, who read directly from his notes with his head down, and used no visual media to support his at times somewhat mumbling and occasionally difficult to hear presentation. The message however, was quite compelling. The key theme in his 'the elusive technological future' speech, was that the future has already overtaken the music, advertising and publishing worlds, because they were completely unprepared for what was coming. He summoned up the words of author William Gibson, who famously said 'the future is already here - it's just not evenly distributed' to drive his argument."

Online courses must die! « E-Learning Provocateur

Online courses must die! « E-Learning Provocateur:

"The proliferation of so-called rapid authoring tools over the last few years has coincided with an explosion in the number of online courses developed in-house.

In the bad old days, technically challenged L&D professionals had to pay exorbitant fees to development houses to produce simple modules. These days, however, everyone seems to be creating their own online courses and distributing them via an LMS."

Instructivism, constructivism or connectivism? « E-Learning Provocateur

Instructivism, constructivism or connectivism? « E-Learning Provocateur:

"Instructivism is dead. Gone are the days of an authoritarian teacher transmitting pre-defined information to passive students.

In the 1990s, constructivism heralded a new dawn in instructional design, turbo-charged by the rise of Web 2.0. Students morphed into participants, empowered to seek new knowledge and understanding for themselves, in the context of their own unique, individual experiences.

In turn, teachers enthusiastically transformed themselves into facilitators, guiding and coaching the participants to inquire, explore, discover and even generate new learnings.

Fast forward to today and connectivism is all the rage. In this digital era, we recognise that there’s simply too much knowledge to take in – and it changes too quickly anyway. So forget about trying to “know” everything; instead, build your network of knowledge sources, and access them whenever you need them."

The University of Wherever - NYTimes.com

The University of Wherever - NYTimes.com:

"FOR more than a decade educators have been expecting the Internet to transform that bastion of tradition and authority, the university. Digital utopians have envisioned a world of virtual campuses and “distributed” learning. They imagine a business model in which online courses are consumer-rated like products on Amazon, tuition is set by auction services like eBay, and students are judged not by grades but by skills they have mastered, like levels of a videogame. Presumably, for the Friday kegger you go to the Genius Bar."
